Recently, a delegation of Tianjin enterprises visited Uzbekistan to further deepen cooperation in trade and investment, education, technology, and cultural tourism with the Uzbek side, and to enhance exchanges between sister cities, in order to promote the development of the bilateral relationship. The 500MW photovoltaic power station in the Pop district of Namangan region, Uzbekistan, is an important collaborative project between China and Uzbekistan in the field of clean energy.

It is understood that the project is expected to be connected to the grid and put into operation this year. Once completed, it will provide Uzbekistan with 10 billion kWh of stable green electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 830,000 tons, and thereby facilitating the local transition to low-carbon energy and promoting economic and social development.

The project adheres to the concept of ecological development and emphasizes the quality of Chinese craftsmanship. The installation features a system of piles and supports that are neatly arranged and recyclable, utilizing world-leading ecological system technology. The structural design has been continuously strengthened to enable the power station to withstand extreme weather conditions, including gusts of up to 15 on the Beaufort scale. The project’s planning and construction consistently prioritize ecological protection, making every effort to protect existing ecosystems. Additionally, through collaboration with Tsinghua University and the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences, the project aims to enhance the ecological environment of the project site during construction.

Tianjin enterprises have played a major role in driving the project forward. China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation’s Tianjin branch organized numerous Tianjin enterprises to serve the project. Tianjin 11th Design & Research Institute Group Co., Ltd. is responsible for project design and construction, Tianjin TCL Centralized Operation Co., Ltd. is responsible for the production of photovoltaic components, Tianjin 11th International Trade Co., Ltd. is responsible for material trade, Tianjin Youfa Group is responsible for the production of solar structure support steel pipes, and Tianjin Huasong Power Group’s Tianjin branch is responsible for the outgoing lines, while Tianjin Ke’an is responsible for mechanical equipment, and so on.
