Fire Sprinkler Steel Pipe General Product Information
ASTM A179 standard generally applies to the manufacture of seamless tubes for mild steel heat exchangers and condensers.
However, pipe used in fire sprinkler systems will be steel pipe that meets the ASTM A795 standard because that standard applies specifically to steel pipe used in fire protection systems. Therefore, ASTM A179 standard pipe may not be the most common choice.
